Cool Lexus ad spotted! Jeb Corliss straps on this wingsuit and hijacks a Lexus RX on the move!

Lexus invited Jeb Corliss, a wingsuit pioneer, to get behind the wheel of the all-new Lexus RX in Australia and the result is nothing less than an amazing ad

A high-stakes car jacking appears to be the focus of a well-crafted new Lexus ad starring one of the world's foremost wingsuit pilos, Jeb Corliss.

Created by M&C Saatchi, it is supposed to represent the Lexus' "belief in a confident new mindset", with the ad following Corliss as he jumps from 12,000 feet in his wingsuit before landing on the back of a flatbed trailer carrying the new Lexus RX.

While his accomplice lands in front of the truck forcing it to stop, Corliss lands on the back, jumps in the RX and drives it off. The ad can be viewed in full here:

Lexus overtakes Audi as the third top-selling luxury car in Malaysia!

Lexus 2015 sales boosted by NX and new RX models

For the first time in Malaysia, Lexus vehicle sales have topped Audi to be the third best-selling luxury car! Congratulations, Lexus!

This achievement is all the more deserved given tough conditions car manufacturers had to contend with in the Malaysian auto industry.

Firstly, the weakening Ringgit had an adverse impact on the prices of cars. Secondly, the roll out of GST in April 2015 added a further unwelcome burden onto already tight wallets. Together, these factors dampened consumer sentiments to an all-time low of 70.2 points in Q3 2015.

I checked out the Lexus showroom at Sungai Besi on Sunday afternoon

And went on a test drive of the RX 350 F-Sport

Within the Klang Valley area, there are three showroom or dealerships. Last week, I went to the Lexus showroom on Jalan Sultan Ismail. Today, Sunday, I paid a visit to the Lexus dealership at Sungai Besi. Most KL-folk would steer away from this area; I'm not sure what was the decisive factor to locate a Lexus dealership here, even though there are no fewer than 5 other dealerships along the same road, including Porsche. The fact that most of us wouldn't venture into this area makes it all the more interesting to do a write up of the Lexus Sungai Besi dealership. Let's take a look to see what's going on there...

Feels like home already... :-) I love how all Lexus showrooms have this clean, minimalist look. The floor space feels spacious, uncluttered, and well laid out. I don't know how far this is true, but I'm speculating that the Japanese philosophy of simplicity was applied when the showroom layout was designed.

Jude Law partners Lexus to live 'The life RX'

Oscar-nominee makes glamorous TV commercial on all-new Lexus RX

Talented Hollywood actor Jude Law and Lexus just announced a collaboration for a campaign aimed to showcase new levels of sophistication, luxury and excitement in the all-new Lexus RX.

Produced by CHI&Partners, the commercial, entitled 'The Life RX,' shows the handsome actor pulling up to a hotel lobby in his sharply-styled Lexus RX. He tosses the keys to the valet who jumps at the chance to take the car for a spin around town to live the high life, setting off on his own adventures, unknown to its glamorous owner.

I decided to pop over to the Lexus Showroom @ Jalan Sultan Ismail today...

I'm so used to the bigger Lexus showroom at Mutiara Damansara that it made me think, 'I wonder what it's like at the KL showroom.' Today was a relaxing Saturday and I didn't have much on my plate. On a lark, I decided to hop over to the Lexus KL Showroom at the Life Centre along Jalan Sultan Ismail to see what's going on and what Lexus models I can drool over.

This particular dealership, by virtue of the premium space it commands, plays second fiddle to the Mutiara Damansara showroom which is easily three times larger. I had to manage my expectations to avoid disappointment in case they didn't have every model currently sold by Lexus Malaysia.

Service was a bit slow in the beginning to be honest.

Noooo!!! Don't do this to a Lexus - give it to me instead!

Do you ever have this feeling when you see a car undergoing crash test?

Congratulations, Lexus! The Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) has recently awarded the all-new Lexus RX a 5-star rating for safety, as reported here on Paul Tan.

In keeping with the times, the newer the car, the more safety gadgets it gets. In the 80s, automobile crash tests mainly assessed for crumple zone structural rigidity, the effectiveness of seat belt pretensioners and (if you were lucky enough) your car came with airbags - they would test the speed of deployment of these as well.

Now, though, crash assessment tests demand far more insights into a car's behaviour under sudden impact. They look for how a car's bonnet softens the blow to a pedestrian's head (quite macabre, methinks), how the leading edge of the front number cushions the contact impact from a pedestrian's upper and lower leg and whether a vehicle's pre-collision anti-crash braking systems work as they should.

I still can't get past the pedestrian head part...

By the end of these tests, the 2015 Lexus RX scored the maximum safety ratings. Look at the video below and you'll be impressed at how, upon frontal collision, the front driver and passenger doors retain their shape.

Lexus introduces all-new RX350, RX450h and R200t for 2016

Great news, Cheshire types. The King of luxury crossover SUVs is back. For 2016, Lexus launches the all-new RX line which is the undisputed best-seller of the Lexus range, shifting well over 100,000 units a year (the ES range comes a close second, shifting around 76,000 units a year). The LS may be the top of the range, but there is no denying the importance of the RX: This model alone almost outsells BMW's entire SUV line-up - the X1, X3 and X5 combined. That's how important the RX is. They have to get this right.

First off, the looks. Immediately, there is a family resemblance with the NX. But in my opinion, the RX looks even more breathtaking as it borrows the crisp, edgy and chiselled character of its younger sibling and evolved it, rehashed it, reimagined it with new aesthetic maturity. In doing so, the 2016 Lexus RX should be successful in scoring a hat trick: To retain the admiration of its loyal Lexus fanbase and broaden its appeal to drivers who haven't owned yet a Lexus. This new design language - it will do the trick.

Let's get to the technicality later. First, some pictures of the all-new Lexus RX and we begin with the money shot (please guys, don't drool on my page):

The design stays true to the new Lexus visual language, but you can see they have smoothened out the creases on the sides, which run from the front lights, to the wheel arches and back over the edge to the rear just below the C pillar which tapers off nicely to blend with the rear lights. Good job, Lexus!

Don't you just love the front snout? As Lexus churns out new models, the spindle grille first seen on the CT200h has grown sharper, deeper, snarlier. This iteration (along with the current IS-F) is to me one of the nicest front ends ever to grace the marque.

But the best part of all is the disappearing C-pillar. The main crumple structure is hidden by careful application of black glass so that the C-pillar tapers off in a bold, angular way - which reduces visual 'bulk.' It's the first disappearing C-pillar from among the breed of large cross over SUVs and I'll bet you other manufacturers are thinking now, "Why didn't we do that?" Next, we step inside...

Meanwhile, during the Malaysian launch of the all-new 2016 Lexus RX, even the human models gave the car models a run for their money...
