Lexus NX 300h prices compared in 10 countries: The results are astonishing!

Cheapest to most expensive: In which country do you have to pay 4 times the normal price for a Lexus NX 300h?

Hey guys. Do you feel that we're paying more for our cars than people in other countries? Turns out the grass isn't greener on the other side. I embarked on a price comparison exercise for the Lexus NX 300h - a car that broke all the design rules for small SUVs - and did it just for fun.

The results are simply astonishing. You know, on some dim level I understood that import taxes, duties, protectionist policies play a big role in the final sticker price of a car when it hits the market, but honestly, I didn't think the price difference could be that huge between the cheapest and most expensive countries.

Paul Walker on the Lexus LFA: 10 Quotes About his Love for the Lexus LFA

The late Fast & Furious star gushes over the Lexus LFA

Six months before his untimely passing, Paul Walker was invited to drive an extremely rare Lexus LFA around the Willow Springs Raceway in America. What made this particular Lexus LFA different was its mileage: 30,000 miles. That meant, this particular specimen had been driven, and driven hard. The star of the Fast & Furious franchise couldn't contain his admiration for the Lexus LFA and here, we filter the interview into 10 quotes that clearly shows he was mental about the Lexus supercar.

1. "I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to manipulate Lexus into like, let me borrow one for, like, two years."

2. "The car's pretty well set up but it's amazing the LFA - especially given that we're on street tyres - and lap after lap after lap, I don't see anybody checking tyre pressure or anything. It's pretty phenomenal."

3. "It feels really well balanced and well set up and (inspires) a lot of confidence."

Car in review: Lexus IS 250 C convertible - Understated elegance and uncompromising reliability in motion

The arrival of the Lexus RC Convertible is imminent. We take one final look at the desirable Lexus IS 250 C convertible before it gets replaced.

It was designed with the sleek lines of the Lexus IS 250 but came with two doors less. It had the sensible practicalities of a four seater but at the touch of a button, became a long distance open top cruiser. It surpassed the prestige of rival German marques, but had none of their chronic idiosyncratic problems. It was, for lack of a better word, a motoring conundrum that saw few buyers but commanded legions of followers bordering on obsession.

This is the Lexus IS 250 C. It was introduced in 2009, just as the Lexus SC 430 was due to make its swan song in 2010. For five years after the departure of the Lexus SC 430, the Lexus IS 250 C still holds the honour of being the only convertible in the entire Lexus line-up.

That will all come to pass in due time, so before the Lexus IS 250 C is replaced next year, today I investigate what makes it so desirable.

ANA & Lexus Connection: Lexus limo service for First Class ANA passengers

Japan's largest airline, ANA, and Lexus have teamed up to offer a limo service to bring personalised service to new heights of luxury.

ANA & Lexus Connection is a complimentary service originating from Tokyo Haneda Airport whereby First Class travellers from London, Frankfurt and Los Angeles are chauffeured between the international terminal to ANA's domestic hub at Terminal 2 in the comfort and luxury of a Lexus limo.

Passengers who are eligible for the ANA & Lexus Connection will ride in the flagship Lexus models, with a choice of either the Lexus LX or Lexus LS. Lexus have commissioned selected models of Lexus LS to feature a bespoke blue and white leather interior - ANA's corporate colours - as a homage to the newly-minted relationship between Japan's largest airline and Japan's most successful luxury car manufacturer.

All Lexus achieves 4,000+ readers and it's still growing!

Thank you so much for your support and love, guys!!

Thanks to your continuous support and love, All Lexus has surpassed 4,000 readers! I'm eternally grateful to each and everyone of you for visiting this blog. You know, one of the things I've tried to do with All Lexus is to mix corporate Lexus news (future releases, new vehicle updates) with reviews of current models and a comprehensive coverage of second-hand Lexus cars to make this site unlike any other.

For example, in the coverage of the 2017 all-new flagship Lexus LS, All Lexus was the only site to leak how it's gunning to be the 2020 Tokyo Olympic official car, while in the 2017 Lexus CT 200h article, we're the only site to report ditching the familiar hatchback profile for a mini-MPV silhouette, as well as getting a new panoramic moonroof. That's because I believe my awesome readers deserve better coverage because these are the things you want to know and to read about, to understand the future of the Lexus brand. And I'm all the more happy to serve your needs for Lexus news, as always. :-)

Also, I appreciate the fact that - as the status symbol it is - Lexus can be quite an expensive purchase. So we provide a coverage of cars that you CAN afford: Second-hand but extremely reliable and affordable to maintain Lexus. Three of the most popular articles for second hand Lexus is the Lexus IS 250 for RM90,000, the Lexus GS 300 for RM128,000, and a full-spec Lexus CT 200h for RM100,000Not everyone can afford a brand new Lexus (certainly not me). So the second-hand market is important in that it facilitates buy-in at an entry-level pricetag, creates brand awareness, and sows the seeds of loyalty for future purchases of new vehicles.

That's how I strive to serve you, my awesome readers. It's how I repay your kindness, your time, your support and your love for coming to this simple blog. I'd love to hear from you, so please give me your comments and tell me what you think and what you'd like to know more about and I'll don my thinking cap and get right to it.

Once again, I appreciate your support and love. Thank you for growing this site to surpass 4,000 readers. We hit the last 1,000 readers in four days actually, that's quite a record despite Christmas generally being a quiet period where viewership is concerned.

I love you all and hope you're having a blast this Christmas!

Cheers!

First sighting of the Lexus FR-S... and the world premiere of the Lexus MPV

Some say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. All we know is, this is insulting!

Damn!

How did these Lexus cars fly below the radar? Hawk-eyed motorists have spotted these rare-as-diamond, one-off Lexus plying the roads.

Take exhibit A: The Lexus FR-S

I tried to Google about the Lexus FR-S and I couldn't find a single article about it. Must be a top secret project, something they're keeping well under wraps, keeping down looooow...

And Hallelujah! It's the world premiere of the Lexus MPV:

Part 2 - The day I popped the cherry: Inside the Lexus LFA (video)

Never have I loved an interior as much as this.

Hey guys! Are we in the Christmas spirit yet? It's just a few hours left to go and I hope you're with your friends and loved ones now.

In Part 1 of my article, I wrote about the exterior design of the Lexus LFA. Truth be told, it didn't win me over and I just couldn't see it mature over the years as a future classic, like a Ferrari F40, McLaren F1 or the Lamborghini Countach. So what effect will the interior have on me then?

I have the keys, pressed 'unlock' and this kickstarts a series of electronic buzzes whirring around the car, like a series of pre-checks to designed to prime the car before setting off.

While the exterior of the car was mostly misses rather than hits, the interior is a different matter altogether. Here, it pushed all the right buttons for me.

This picture says it all:

You sit low, surrounded by high door sills and dashboard line but the overall effect is cocooning, even if the seats could do with more lateral support. Other than that, the driving position was just spot on.

It was only after I wiped that smirk off my face (and drool stains off the leather) did I notice the seating is just about as close to the centre of the vehicle as possible. The cross section below shows where the seat is relative to the car's extremities and you'll see what I mean.

Hello, hello, what's going on at the Lexus showroom in Japan? Why, it's a White Winter Exhibition.

Intersect by Lexus Tokyo showcases unique Japanese craftsmanship and artistry

From 22 December 2015 - 7 January 2016, visitors to Intersect by Lexus, located at Aoyama, Tokyo will be dazzled by a stunning Christmas cum winter showroom installation that converts the concept store into a giant snow globe. Look up and you'll see fir tree roots hanging from the ceiling and white feathers gently drifting to the ground on a pillow of air. And underfoot, exquisite materials heighten the impression you're treading on crunchy snow.

The finishing touch is a halo model, the Lexus LFA, sitting all pretty at the centre, in... what else? Snow white.

Intersect by Lexus - Tokyo was designed as the model for future Lexus showrooms, a symbiosis of the latest Lexus vehicles, a lifestyle cafe and Lexus-inspired lifestyle accoutrements. Located at Aoyama, the Tokyo neighbourhood renowned for art, music, fashion and design, Intersect was conceived as the highest expression of the Pursuit of Perfection.

This video gives visitors an idea of what it looks like inside. To me, it mimics an expensive designer boutique. I love it!

Pictures after the jump:

Part 1: I finally popped the Lexus LFA cherry. Meet No. 202 of only 500 LFAs ever made.

So this is it. The big one. The LFA.

With only 500 units ever made - and most of them likely locked away in a hermetically-sealed garage - statistically speaking you have a higher chance of being struck by lightning than clapping your eyes on a Lexus LFA on the road.

I recently lived in the UK for a whole year. Didn't see one.

In Malaysia too, there isn't one on the road yet.

All 500 samples of the Lexus LFA have been sold so if you're in the market for one of these ultra rare supercars, or if you're a bit pinstripe in the wallet like me but just want to get up close and personal with one, it's in the second-hand car market where you'll luck out. That's where I headed. TJM, a parallel importer along Jalan Tun Razak, had a luscious specimen made in 2011, coated in diamond black paint and trimmed in ivory leather.

My admiration for the Lexus LFA knows no bounds, but I still think it's a failure as a design exercise - tragic for such an expensive supercar. Let's start by scanning the details outside and what I think is wrong with it:

2017 heralds the launch of the all-new Lexus CT 200h

Replacement for Lexus baby hybrid will be cleaner, more spacious, and may ditch hatchback for mini MPV proportions

If this widely-circulated image is to be believed, you're looking at the all-new 2017 Lexus CT 200h. It may be just a rendition, but now, compare that with these spy shots of the replacement baby Lexus hybrid seen testing on UK roads, and there could be truth to what the above rendition illustrates (pictures sourced from Autowereld):

Meeting your superhero for the first time: What it feels to pop the Lexus LFA cherry

Q. On a scale of 1 - 10, how nervous was I to get inside the Lexus LFA?
A. 11

Being in the Lexus LFA for the first time felt like potpourri of excitement, anxiousness, anticipation and fear all in one. My heart pounded like a runaway horse and I swear my heart rate shot up sky high, I thought it needed a digital rev counter to register the sudden spike.

But what brought me to this car in the first place, how different is it to the garden variety Lexus, and more importantly, is the bellow of the V10 all it's cracked up to be?

Hi-five guys! 3,000 readers and everyone of you made it possible!

All Lexus gets from 2,000 to 3,000 readers in just 5 days!

Well that was fast, wasn't it? The first thousand readers took us 16 days, the second thousand readers took 14 days, and now, we've hit 3,000 readers in a blistering 5 days!

Do I need to say it? You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for your continuous support. Your love means so much to me and everytime I see a fresh click on the stats, my heart fill to the brim with joy.

We now have readers from 30 countries who enjoy the lite bites of Lexus news. We try not to take things too seriously here; we're just trying our best to deliver the kind of Lexus news that we ourselves would read essentially. If anything, I want the news you read, the articles you spend time reading to take you on an emotional journey of what goes in our heads when we see a Lexus because that way, I get to share part of my humanity with my awesome readers, and the articles become a mirror of my soul - rather than giving you excessive technical information which is rather dry and doesn't make great reading. In that way, I hope to connect with you on a more human level - from what one person feels to how another human reacts to those feelings.

Once again, thank you for your stream of support. And let me say this clearly: I serve you. You guys are my awesome readers and it is a privilege to be of service by writing interesting things to read about Lexus on All Lexus.

Hi-give guys!

Cheers!

I checked out the Lexus showroom at Sungai Besi on Sunday afternoon

And went on a test drive of the RX 350 F-Sport

Within the Klang Valley area, there are three showroom or dealerships. Last week, I went to the Lexus showroom on Jalan Sultan Ismail. Today, Sunday, I paid a visit to the Lexus dealership at Sungai Besi. Most KL-folk would steer away from this area; I'm not sure what was the decisive factor to locate a Lexus dealership here, even though there are no fewer than 5 other dealerships along the same road, including Porsche. The fact that most of us wouldn't venture into this area makes it all the more interesting to do a write up of the Lexus Sungai Besi dealership. Let's take a look to see what's going on there...

Feels like home already... :-) I love how all Lexus showrooms have this clean, minimalist look. The floor space feels spacious, uncluttered, and well laid out. I don't know how far this is true, but I'm speculating that the Japanese philosophy of simplicity was applied when the showroom layout was designed.

Video: Jude Law interviewed during behind-the-scenes shooting of 'The Life RX'

Hollywood star gives the inside scoop on filming Lexus' most successful commercial to date

If you enjoyed 'The Life RX' commercial featuring Hollywood star Jude Law, you're not alone. It has quickly catapulted to become Lexus' most watched commercial. And I'll bet most of the viewers were women! :-D

While shooting the commercial, Jude Law gave an interview in-situ at an undisclosed location in the south of France where the final scenes of the commercial were shot. Earlier scenes were shot just outside Rome, Italy. So we know it was shot in two locations.

Speaking of his inaugural collaboration with Lexus, the actor said, "I play the owner of the car who arrives at a hotel and the keys are handed to a valet who then takes the car on a lifestyle-changing journey.

Happy Xmas guys!

To my friends and readers,

Merry Christmas from All Lexus and may your closest family and friends share the yuletide joy and fun together with you. Please please please remember to drive safely; I like to think we Lexus drivers are among the most civilised and civic-minded ones on the road. If anyone wants to be jerk on the road, let them be the jerk, okay? It's not about getting to the end point first, it's about getting there in style - and no one does style better than Lexus drivers.

Have a chill Christmas!

All Lexus

PS: I found this somewhere on the net and thought it was hilarious, so I just thought I'd share it with you.

Second-hand Lexus RX270 goes for just RM180,000 but what's the secret to owning this car on the cheap?

Large SUV, massive options list, comfortable ride - what's not to like?

This is something I've been toying around by myself and I'd like to share this personal journey with you.

I used to have the Lexus IS250 which I love a lot but on account of insufficient rear legroom and potentially growing family needs, a car with a larger rear compartment may be in the cards.

The previous generation Lexus RX came in two engine sizes, being the Lexus RX350 and Lexus RX270. But I'm your average Joe, and I'm sure as hell not going to fork out the $$$$s for road tax on a 3.5 litre engine. But a 2.7-litre 4 cylinder? That's only a marginal step up from my Lexus IS250, which ran on a 2.5-litre V6. In my mind, perhaps the incremental cost of an additional 0.2-litre displacement could be offset by the gains from running a 4-cylinder engine, two strokes less than the Lexus IS250. There are as many gears in the Lexus RX270 as with the Lexus IS250: both are motivated by a 6-speed auto transmission. This, for my growing needs, could be the answer I'm looking for.

So I looked on various classifieds and this is what I've found on mudah:

When is a first generation Lexus LS 400 better than a new Mercedes S Class?

Breakthrough in suspension design limits pitch and roll, providing greater comfort and superior vehicle stability

This piece came courtesy of my brother, who forwarded me a link to a first generation Lexus LS 400 using a suspension system that appeared in 2004, predating the Magic Body Control seen in the latest Mercedes S Class by a good 10 years.

Watch the video first and I'll sort of try to explain how this mumbo-jumbo works:

Can you believe who cracked it?

Question: How many handbags can you fit inside a Lexus LFA?

Answer: Ask Paris Hilton.

I'll bet the engineers and designers of the Lexus LFA are rolling their eyes at this moment... this is just so wrong on so many level.

The heiress to the Hilton empire is seen stuffing the tiny boot of one of the greatest supercars of all time... with Hermes or Ferragamos...

Lexus among best for resale value - 5 years in a row!

Kelley Blue Book names Lexus among top manufacturers for projected resale value

Once again, Lexus tops Kelley Blue Book best brands for best resale value. This makes it five years straight Lexus has won this award in the luxury brand category.

That's not all. Kelley Blue Book also awarded best resale value gongs for specific Lexus models in the categories below:

A walk through some of the updates I've made to this blog

How's my favourite people doing this evening?

By now, some of you would have seen changes to the appearance of the All Lexus blog and I just wanted to walk you through the new layout and explain why some of those changes were necessary.

Firstly, at the top of the side bar, there's now a Search bar

This will make it easier for you to navigate through and dig out old articles just by typing a keyword or a phrase. As more and more article are added, it could be dicey finding that article you read halfway through, told yourself you'd come back to it, but never got round to it a day or two later. This solves that problem! :-) So, a Search bar is right at the top because of its importance.

Next, some of you may want to be informed automatically through email when a new article is posted. This saves you time from having to come back to the home page every time, so welcome to the email subscription service, courtesy of All Lexus.

The third change is perhaps the one I'm most excited about.

Just got my business cards today - what do you guys think?

Hey guys!

Just wanted to share something with you, my awesome readers. Yesterday, I went to the print shop to order a set of business cards. And I picked them up today.

The overall design is simple - like a Lexus. Didn't want to go for anything too fancy; simplicity is best I thought. Just the blog address, a little tagline, my name number and email and that's it.

It's a small milestone for me, and hopefully this card will do the trick to bring me deeper into the bowels of Lexus so that I'll eventually have more things All Lexus to share with you.

My number's on the card, so feel free to add me on Whatsapp.

What do you think of my new card?

Cheers!

Jude Law partners Lexus to live 'The life RX'

Oscar-nominee makes glamorous TV commercial on all-new Lexus RX

Talented Hollywood actor Jude Law and Lexus just announced a collaboration for a campaign aimed to showcase new levels of sophistication, luxury and excitement in the all-new Lexus RX.

Produced by CHI&Partners, the commercial, entitled 'The Life RX,' shows the handsome actor pulling up to a hotel lobby in his sharply-styled Lexus RX. He tosses the keys to the valet who jumps at the chance to take the car for a spin around town to live the high life, setting off on his own adventures, unknown to its glamorous owner.

Lexus December Christmas Specials: Starring penguins!!!

WARNING: This ad will tug at your heartstrings

Why? Because there's a penguin.

Lexus US came up with this advert where a father explains to his child how the new Lexus car came to the family drive way. Children love stories, and what better time to explore the imaginative side of storytelling than Christmas time! It's a great tool to inform buyers that Lexus is currently having promotions for December.

Hope you like the video!

Lexus GS F gets one-of-a-kind carbon fibre interior

Fastest Lexus family car gets amazing new cabin

Buyers of the Lexus GS F in Canada can honestly say their cars are unlike any other GS F on the road. That's because Lexus has introduced new cabin trimmings to already superb interior. It comes in the form of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP). Does CFRP sound familiar to you? Of course it does! It's what the Lexus LFA is practically made of entirely.

What exactly is Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic?

It's an extremely strong and light plastic reinforced with carbon fibre (you noticed I just changed the order of the words right there?). CFRP is extremely expensive so most manufacturers stay away from it which is why it's more commonly used in aviation than other industries. However, where strength to weight ratio and rigidity are paramount, CFRP is the perennial choice, hence why Lexus decided to go ahead with it.

Other than this stunning interior, Canadian Lexus GS F retains the stock V8 5.0 litre engine that pumps out 471 horsepower and develops 389 lb ft of torque, which gets it from standstill to 60mph in 4.4 seconds.

Any Canadian All Lexus readers making a trip to Lexus Canada showroom? If you do, give us a ride!

Cheers!

Official state cars Part 2: Lexus the choice for Kings, Queens, Presidents and Prime Ministers

Part 2 of Picture gallery: Lexus honoured as official state car in 20 countries

Continuing from Part 1 where we reviewed briefly the process of selecting an official state car, here we explore the next 20 official head of state cars driven by leaders of the free world and ask:

What does it mean to be chosen to supply these vehicles?

It is considered the highest honour bestowed upon an automotive manufacturer to be chosen to supply an official state car. This prestige that comes with it extends far beyond functionality as a mode of transportation; it becomes a national symbol of the people, portraying the unified image of strength and supremacy of that nation, as well as an image the country's subjects and the global community can invest their trust in.

Countries that have indigenous automobile manufacturers normally choose their nationally-made cars to show their support. If this is not an option, the government will purchase an official state car from an automobile manufacturer originating in a country with whom it shares warm diplomatic ties and strong bilateral trade. Exceptions are observed wherein a country with a national auto industry nonetheless opts to commission an official state car from another country.

For the first 10 head of state cars, click here.

Head of State Cars (continued)

11. Japan

Even though Japan exports two other luxury brands - the Acura and Infiniti - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe trusts Lexus as his official state car. His personal choice? An armoured Lexus LS 600h L, seen here in Kuala Lumpur during the recent 2015 ASEAN summit.

12. Malaysia

Lexus is a popular choice among Sultans of Malaysia. Most of what you see is the Lexus LS 600h L. For a change, I decided to show what the Sultan of Pahang is driven in: A previous generation Lexus LX.
