Congratulations, Lexus! What a great way to start 2016!
The new Lexus GS F is already a big thing in Japan - pre orders for the new high performance sedan has reached 380 units, or 1,900 per cent higher than the sales goal of 20 units a month.
For perspective, in the unlikely event that Lexus does not increase production to match demand, the waiting list for the Lexus GS F in Japan is now almost two years long.

Just how much can you spend on a Lexus?
We set out to tally the priciest Lexus ever made, regardless whether it is sold in the showroom or specially-commissioned models by owners with deep pockets.
Unsurprisingly, the top spot is taken by a supercar, but below that, you'll find a tantilising mix of one-off models made for Heads of States or for a prince's wedding. As we get further down the list, the sticker prices, though still lofty, are more attainable to the 'premium masses.'
Interestingly, the top four most expensive Lexus models are above the $400,000 mark and all of the variants that have made the top 10 list break the six-figure barrier.
The other observation is that a higher price tag doesn't necessarily correlate with higher top speed or friskier acceleration. At this level, speed becomes less of concern than perhaps how well occupants are protected from outside threats, or options that are tailored to suit a buyer's needs. Prince Albert of Monaco commissioned a Landaulet version and look what a beautiful wife he scored (if you're planning to get hitched and taken off the market, definitely consider the open roof option then).
