Hollywood star gives the inside scoop on filming Lexus' most successful commercial to date
If you enjoyed 'The Life RX' commercial featuring Hollywood star Jude Law, you're not alone. It has quickly catapulted to become Lexus' most watched commercial. And I'll bet most of the viewers were women! :-D
While shooting the commercial, Jude Law gave an interview in-situ at an undisclosed location in the south of France where the final scenes of the commercial were shot. Earlier scenes were shot just outside Rome, Italy. So we know it was shot in two locations.
Speaking of his inaugural collaboration with Lexus, the actor said, "I play the owner of the car who arrives at a hotel and the keys are handed to a valet who then takes the car on a lifestyle-changing journey.
"I saw the concept in storyboard and one of the keys of the story is the interaction between the other characters and the main character - he really is 'you' the viewer.
"But to shoot that they've created a helmet-cam. It's like talking to a person but the person is the camera. So you get the hands of the person in-shot but anything we do is directly into the lens and it therefore it feels like the viewer is in the commercial with you.
"It's like being allowed into a slice of life that you otherwise wouldn't be. Or peeking into a world excitement, thrill and glamour that perhaps you wouldn't otherwise have access to," he said.
Also interviewed is Spiros Fotinos, Head of Brand Communications, Lexus Europe and Greg Williams, identified as a Celebrity Photographer (a glamourised paparazzi, in other words).
